Borrower insurance: end of the health questionnaire for loans up to €200,000
On Thursday, February 3, 2022, deputies and senators met in a joint committee and agreed to simplify the borrower insurance, which a buyer must subscribe to in order to take out a mortgage. The commission's flagship measure: the end of the medical questionnaire for all. This bill, led by MP Patricia Lemoine (Agir ensemble, Seine-et-Marne) aims at " fairer, simpler and more transparent access to the creditor insurance market". It still has to be voted on 10 February in the National Assembly and on 17 February in the Senate, but as long as a compromise has been reached, this should not be a problem.
Removal of the medical questionnaire for certain loans
From now on, all banks will have to stop asking for a medical questionnaire when a borrower takes out a mortgage of less than €200,000 , or €400,000 when it is a couple's purchase.
Another condition is that the loan must be repaid before the age of 60. This means that you must be under 35 years of age at the time of taking out a 25-year loan, or 40 years for a 20-year loan.
Right to be forgotten from 10 to 5 years
Termination of the borrower insurance contract at any time
